Question

Custom Fortinet Client Deplopyment

Greetings,

I recently took over a site in which there was a custom 6.0 Forticlient installation created that mapped drives upon login for the users. I reviewed the XML configuration and understand how to do the scripting to make a 6.2 XML/Conf file, however what I cannot find is a way to restore the file. Every version of Forticlient 6.2 I download says to upgrade to the full version. I downloaded the file directly from the support site logged in with the site-admin account.

What am I possibly missing? Thanks for any advice on such a noobish question.

Edit:

After more research, I am wondering if this is an accurate statement: It appears a custom VPN installer could be made in 6.0.8 with a developer account (which I do not have) and in >=6.2.0 a new EMS license/appliance needs to be created. There is no way to restore a custom XML configuration to the VPN ONLY client.

At least you should be able to restore saved&modified config file manually with FortiClient VPN 6.2, which is how I saved config from 6.0.x and uninstalled it and re-installed 6.2.x then restored the file.

Are you seeing a "lock" icon on the top right, at the end of 5 icons? Then you just need to click it to unlock.
