Connections and sessions in FortiGate

Hi guys,

I have been reading many documents where the concept of connection and session is used interchangeably, but today I have read "Firewall performance of connections per session and maximum number of connections are indicated by the session table".

Is there any difference between connection and session in FortiGate? If so, what is the difference?
