I was able to establish a connection for a very long time, but it then suddenly stopped working. The connection is established, but no data is received. The connection then closes after about 25 seconds.

I noticed the following in the fortitray log which only appear after the time it stopped working:

I am using VPN Client 7.4.3.4726

The problem only appears on my working laptop which is controlled by my company. On my private laptop the connection is stable and usable. I am suspecting ZScaler to be the problem, but I was not able yet to check this, so I wanted to know if anybody has any suggestion on what to search for?

I already uninstalled and reinstalled Forti Client, I tried an older version but the problem is still the same.

    Hi @Tobias_Krasinger ,

The standard troubleshooting procedure mandates eliminating the possibility of any conflict between all third-party AV, EDR, or VPN software with FortiClient.
Try to disable if any other endpoint security , AV, EDR, or VPN software enabled and then check the status.

It is extremly frustrating, because I simply have no idea where to start searching. As suddenly the connection broke, as suddenly it somehow worked again starting on May 6th. But today as I turned on my laptop again, the connection is not working. I am able to connect, I am able to ping machines in the vpn, but it seems like after 25 seconds it stops receiving data, and then closes the connection after about 40 seconds.

    I am very lost

    Hello @Tobias_Krasinger
Perhaps a packet capture on the client computer reveals the location of the reset, after which you can carry out additional troubleshooting.

Are there any other firewalls, ADCs, or any other layer 3 devices that may interfere in communication?

    regards,
