Connecting FortiClient to EMS programatically;

recent week our entire FortiClient base (a mixture of 6.4.3 and 7.0.0) disconnected from EMS. Very frustrating. Does anyone know of a method of reconnecting the clients to EMS that doesn't require manually entering the address into the client and hitting connect? A command line switch perhaps? We're using‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎­Windows, Mac and Linux. Fortinet support have been less than useless! EMS version 7.0.0.

Hi Zeref,

 

If the FCT was installed with an installer coming from EMS, FCT should always try to connect to EMS every 60 seconds. Otherwise, manual joining to EMS is required.

Is your EMS published to Internet? --> having valid external FQDN and port 8013 opened

The CLI command to register FCT to EMS is:

cd C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient
FortiESNAC.exe -r [EMS public IP]
