Hi everyone,

 

How do I limit bandwidth on a policy in FortiGate 600E using a method that restricts bandwidth for specific IP addresses only?

you can create and apply a traffic shaper for this kind of limitation.

Thank you for your input.


Do I need to enable the Traffic Shaper feature first? Because when I try to apply it in the policy, the Traffic Shaping option does not appear in the Firewall Policy.
Please advise.

hi,

in System > Feature Visibility you need to activate Traffic Shaping if not already then in Firewall&Object a new menu will appear, Traffic Shaping, where you create the desired policy.

in the firewall rules, you need to set it via CLI 

 

config firewall policy
edit <>

set traffic-shaper  <>

end
