CLI Telnet with a specific source address

Hi all,

I'm banging my head off a brick wall trying to figure out as to what is stopping a connection from a remote site IPSec VPN through the Fortigate FW.  

Can I do any sort of extended Telnet from the Fortigate CLI to my inside destination using the source address of the IPSec VPN ?

I've SYN's on the diag sniffer but nothing more so I want to try and simulate the connection myself overnight to try and get it sorted out by the morning
