Changing VM size and architecture for FortiGate in Azure

Hi there,

i need to change the vm size of my FortiGate in Azure. Currently we're using DS1v2 for a small firewall.

Can i switch to an ARM-based VM size like "Standard_D2pls_v6" and follow the KB article Technical Tip: Resizing an Azure FortiGate VM instance or do i need to stick to Intel-based ones?

I don't want to reconfigure everything, but configuration restore would be OK, if needed for the architecture switch.

You will have to stay within the same architecture during your resize. The ARM sizes will show up under the Unsupported architecture section within the resize menu but cannot be selected. Easiest way to change is to back up your FGT config in the GUI and redeploy the FGT VM in Azure with ARM selected as the VM architecture type.
