certificate password

Hi, I have a password on a fortigate device that was generated via csr request and then sent to a CA to be created. I now need to export the certificate to use on another devices and convert it to pkcs12. I can get the private key file for the certificate following this article http://kb.fortinet.com/kb/documentLink.do?externalID=FD35001 However the set password and unset password commands can not be issued against the certificate, so I am unable to set a known password. I could be incorrect, but I think the ENC password has been set by Fortigate device and not the CA. Can anyone help?
