Question

Cannot Change FortiGuard Service Account Password

Hi all,

I'm trying to change the service-account-id and password under Config System fortiguard on our FortiGate 100D cluster (v5.2.3, build670 [GA]). I can change the service-account-id OK, but when I enter a password using the syntax set service-account-passwd command, it fails. My CLI reference manual states that this is the way to change it. Has anyone any ideas as to how I may resolve this issue.

Many thanks,

John P

Hi

I have no clue if this would help because have never had the situation but what about to unset the id completly which means:

config system fortiguard

unset service-account-id

end

After that do the registration again from scratch! Hopefully it would help otherwise I have no idea. A problem would be probably if you have also set forticloud logging enabled with "config log fortiguard setting".

hope it helps

have fun

Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Many thanks for the input. I will bear that in mind. I don't want to lose any logs already uploaded to the cloud. I'll probably run it past Support, see what they think.

Best regards,

@AndreaSoliva HI. Will the unset command remove the license or licensing information from the firewall ?
