Can I manage a Fortiswitch with Fortigate with differnet Fortinet support account?

Hi all,

I have my own Fortigate and one Fortiswitch from ebay.

The switch seems under that seller account.

Might I know if I still can use Forti-link to manage that switch without any issue?

Thank you!

hi,

fortilink doesnt require to have the products registered under the same account, so yes you can still use it.

Hi @Potato168

Yes, you can manage a FortiSwitch with a FortiGate using different Fortinet support accounts

Thanks, Salon

Hi Potato168,

Yes, you can manage it via FortiLink without any issue, regardless of the original FortiCloud account.

You may run the sanity‑check commands below; if they all return OK you’re good to go.

get switch-controller managed-switch
execute switch-controller get-conn-status

The only limitation is cloud‑related visibility/registration; those will stay tied to the seller’s tenant unless you deliberately re‑register the switch.
