Best SNMP manager or software for Fortigate to get SNMP traps and notifications?

Hey folks,

Recently I configured monitoring of Fortigate 600D cluster via Prometheus with SNMP metrics.

However, I want to get notified when something is wrong with my cluster, so I need some software tool (SNMP manager) to receive SNMP traps.

Could you please recommend any decent product, like Solarwind or PRTG? Is there are any custom-build and free solutions?

Any of those and openNMS, snmpC would be ideal. For open source numerous pkg exist that has a snmp-host and trap collector. It all depends on what you want.

 

As far as useful traps, I would 1st review the fortigate-mibs and a mib-viewer to see what traps exists.

please prefer prometheus and grafana to monitoring your firewall.
