Automated installation of FortiClient with reduced feature set

I am currently automating the installation/update process for all of the software on the company computers.

Most is done, I only have problems with the FortiClient.

I downloaded FortiClient.msi from the Forti page and tried

msiexec /i FortiClient.msi /Promptrestart

Positiv: it works

negativ: it installs the whole software, allthough I only want remote access and vulnerability scanner.

How can I install only some of the features?

Regards

Severin

Hello Severin, Welcome to the Forums. I assume you don't have EMS in place if you d'like to rollout via AD. I think the simplest way ist to use the Forticlient Tools, but these are no longer, I believe since 5.6.x, available in the download section of Fortinet support, but on the developer network of Fortinet (you need Account too). If you haven't Forticlient licenses and only want to use the free Client, you are not able to configure the Installer, nor to configure the settings in central place.

    Hi,

    Thank your for your answers.

How much is a Forti Developer Network Access per year (rough estimation, just if I file for purchase or just stop here)?

It's free for the basic access which is all you need to download the FC tools.

You need "Forti Client Tools" Current version is 5.6.6.1167. This allows you to create both an MSI and exe installer. It's available from the Fortinet Developer Network site, but you'll need a Fortinet sponsor to get an account on there.
