Assistance with Forticlient 7.4.5

We are attempting to install Forticlient 7.4.5 for our users.

We are making the switch from SSLVPN LDAP authentication to IPSec using SAML authentication with Office 365.

We are running into many issues using the Full EMS client listed below:

Frequent Memory Leaks transitioning into a BSOD

Windows lock screen being a blank blue screen not allowing any user input and only able to be resolved via a restart.

VPN Connection configuration completely dropping off of workstations while off the network.  EMS claims remote access to be OK for these machines but only reinstalling or plugging the machine on our private network brings it back.

I've had limited success trying to run a version of the client only utilizing the remote access but long term we are wanting to enable other components of EMS.

My main question is whether anyone else has seen these issues now or in the past?  If you have resolved them, what did you do?  Happy to provide more detailed information as needed.

Update:  So far, I have a profile that is only using the remote access component of forticlient and these issues go away.  The moment I turn on the web/video filter component is when these issues will come back on workstations.  My main project goal right now is to get us off SSLVPN and onto IPSec with SAML but I'll be providing consistent updates here so that way if someone else finds our issue they can find a solution.

hi,

i would suggest engaging with TAC via a ticket since this appears to a rather complex/particular situation.

Yeah we have a few tickets open with TAC right now, made this post in hopes that someone who has experienced these issues also may have some insight.

I've at least narrowed this down to it for sure, being some issue with how the AV components of FortiClient interact with our environment.    My remote access profile is working as intended with no issues like I described above.

Hi

My experience with integrating FortiClient EMS & FortiClient on endpoints was fine, as long as I use mature versions. 7.4.5 is fine, I integrated it recently and didn't have any of the issues you described.

I think integrating the solution requires some knowledge experience, it is not like a product that you just install and it works great from the beginning. A good idea is to let the integration be done by an experienced integrator, so he avoids getting into tricky situations, and you will have a good result working just fine.

I'm glad you have had success with it, if you have a better suggestion for how to integrate this solution into an enviornment besides asking TAC I'm all ears.  But so far they haven't mentioned anything in our enviornment that is a known issue with implementing forticlient.

I'm not sure you will have much support from TAC when it comes to integration. They may help a bit but when it is issue with integration itself they usually invite you to purchase PS service. That's normal because TAC is not intended to help with integration.

If you choose to do it yourself then you will need to read a lot from install guide and admin guide.

You also need to be familiar with FortiGate administration, VPN, ZTNA, VIPs, firewall policies and so.
