Advertise same SSID on FortiWifi and FortiAP

I am having issues broadcasting the same SSID on both FortiWifi and FortiAP. Right now only the AP is broadcasting. I tried to apply the template to both but it didn' t work. I then tried different t templates with the same SSID and it said SSID already in use. Is there not a way to have both broadcast the same SSID? Thanks

    Can you provide more details about what Foritwifi model and FortiAP you are using, as well, the firmware used (on both). Also is the Fortiwifi acting as a wireless controller or are both units a " slave" to another " master" fgt device that is the wifi controller? If the FortiWifi is acting as the wifi controller, make sure the local radio is enabled and the desired SSID is assigned to it. The same for the FortiAP. (Attached screenshot is from 4.0 MR3 patch 15.)

    Thanks for the response. It turns out that I had it in wireless bridge mode. In that mode I was not able to apply the SSID to both the fortiap and FortiWifi. I changed it to tunnel and I was then able to apply the SSID to both. The FortiWifi is acting as a controller for the fortiap. Next question I have is about ap handoff. Is this only a feature of multiple FortiAP' s or would this apply to my configuration where the local radio of the FortiWifi could handoff to the fortiap since they are now broadcasting the same SSID. Thanks
