Adobe Reader Update being blocked

Probably the file extension blocking, check what file extensions are being blocked. By default there is quite a few ones that are actually used often. Check your ANTI-VIRUS -> FILE BLOCK settings. You can quickly turn off file blocking for the protection profile you use, this will quickly prove whether this is whats causing it.

I definitely appreciate the help, UkWizard! I didn' t think it was File Block because nothing shows up in my log when I attempt to update. But I knew it had to be something since turning off the Protection Profile does the trick. Well, after more than an hour of trial and error I' ve determined that there are two parts of the Protection Profile that are causing this behavior: Virus Scan and Web Content Block. If I have either of those enabled, Adobe Update Manager cannot dowload updates but I show no kind of " block" in my logs.

Update: I found that this problem only occurs while trying to download the " Adobe Reader 7.0.8 Update" or the " Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) Album Starter Edition 3.0" . It does not occur when attempting to download " Adobe Reader 7.0.5 Language Support" . This would lead me to believe that there is something that those particular files are being identified as viruses or being blocked based on perl expressions I have in place. Well, nothing shows up in the logs and I log for both situations. I took it a step further and disabled all perl expressions I have in the Web Content Block and that didn' t help either. I' m stumped. =( It sounds like I might need to call Fortinet.

Appreciate the post but this didn' t help. I determined that the Adobe Update Manager works if I disable Virus Scan and Web Content Block in the protection profile. The issue is most definitely between Adobe and the Fortigate.
