200B real server monitoring

I am playing around with a Fortigate 200B (5.2) and setup a load balanced virtual server with a real server behind that. I can see the monitor in the UI, but when I go to the console and run the "get test ipldbl" suggested by the Fortigate 5.2 Load Balancing document, it just returns a blank line. Is there a better way to know if a server is up or down via the shell or SNMP? Right now I just have a monitor watching the syslog events but that only tells me when one server glitches not if I'm out of servers. Thanks!
