Troubleshooting Tip: Permission denied message when edit an Administrator user in the Fortiweb

Description This article describes how to fix an issue related to the message 'permission denied' when the administrator user is modified and changes are not saved.
Scope FortiWeb v7.0.8 or below.
Solution

In System -> Admin, the administrator tries to modify trust hosts, Admin User group, or other sections and selects 'OK'.

The administrator will see the message 'Permission denied' show up. This could be related to bug 0937465, wherein any change in the System -> Admin cannot be performed.

 

  • Workaround: Use CLI to create a new admin or make any changes.
  • Upgrade to v7.0.10 or above.
