Technical Tip: Download license file from FortiCloud to a FortiWeb VM

After registering a new FortiWeb VM license in FortiCloud, it is necessary to download the .lic license file. This could happen for the first time in a new deployment or when a VM is deployed to replace a previous VM - for example, when an original VM is damaged, or a new hypervisor is used, and a migration is required.

To download the FortiWeb VM license file, access the Fortinet Support Portal with the registered user name and password:

After accessing the website, select Services -> Assets & Accounts -> Asset Management:

In 'Products Overview', all the registered solutions are listed. Select FortiWeb; if the FortiWeb icon does not appear, select the icon 'TOTAL Products':

Then, in 'Product List', search for the FortiWeb serial number and select it:

In the View Products window, there are two ways to download the license file: under Product Information or License & Key:

1. In Product Information, verify the FortiWeb Serial number and then select 'License File Download':

2. In License & Key, check the FortiWeb License Number and the Description. Under the 'Key' column, select 'Download':
