Troubleshooting Tip: Performing a packet capture directly in FortiFone-x75 series

Description

This article describes the way to perform a packet capture from FortiFone-x75 series, using the model FortiFone-375.
Scope

FortiFone x75 series, firmware v3.0.x.
Solution
  1. Log in to the FortiFone-375 using HTTP protocol and the IP-Address of the device.
  • User: admin
  • Password: 23646

  1. From the System -> Tools menu, identify the 'Network Packets Capture' field.
  2. Select the 'Start' button.

This will bring up a pop-up window browser where the capture will start.

  1. For troubleshooting, try to take 3 examples of the failure reproducing the behavior. Once the test has finished, stop the capture by selecting the 'Stop' button.

  1. The file is stored in PCAP format, meaning it is possible to open with the WireShark tool.
