Technical Tip: How to register Unified Communications (UC) desktop Soft FortiFone

Description

This article describes how to register UC desktop Soft FortiFone with FortiVoice.

Scope

FortiVoice v6.4.X and above.

Solution

• Log in to FortiVoice, go to Extension -> Extension.
• Create a new extension or edit an existing one.
• Edit the extension number, and select 'Soft Phone' tab in Device Settings.
• Increase the license allocation to 1. 
• In the Soft FortiFone Device settings tab, select 'View Desktop Login Information'.

 

 

• This will prompt for the login information.
• Open the UC Desktop on the PC and enter the information.
• Select 'Login' to register the FortiFone.

 

 

FortiFone will be registered and show the extension in FortiFone.
