Technical Tip: Lost seed file for FortiToken Hardware with CD

This article describes what happens if the seed file of FortiToken is with a CD.

Scope

FortiToken with CD.

Solution

• FortiToken Hardware with CD, for example, FortiToken-200-CD is a hardware Token that comes with a CD. The CD contains all the seed files with the token.
  
  

• For example, in a 10 tokens bundle purchase, the 10 hardware tokens will be received with a single CD where all the token’s seed files are stored.
  
  

• FortiToken-200-CD will have a serial number starting with the FortiToken-211 prefix.
  
  

• If the CD has been lost and there is no backup of the seed file, it cannot be recovered, as the SKU FTK200CD product (tokens with the FTK211 prefix) was discontinued several years ago.
