Description This article describes steps to take when the FortiGate Web page does not show any clients under 'FortiSwitch Clients'.
Scope FortiGate, Managed FortiSwitch versions 7.2.x and above.
Solution

Refer to the following link for detailed information:

FortiSwitch clients

If wired clients are not visible in the FortiGate GUI under FortiSwitch Clients, follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Check Client Entries in FortiGate CLI.

Run the following commands to verify if the clients appear in the CLI:

diagnose user-device-store device memory list
diagnose switch-controller mac-cache show

Additionally, collect the outputs of the following commands (these may show '0' entries):

diagnose user-device-store device disk list
diagnose switch-controller mac-device cache

  1. Verify GUI Display.

If client entries are visible in the CLI but not in the GUI, try changing the login password on the FortiSwitches.
Refer to the following guide for password change instructions: Changing the admin password on the FortiGate for all managed FortiSwitch units.

  1. If the issue persists after these steps, collect the outputs below and open a support ticket.

    1. FortiGate Configuration.

    2. FortiSwitch logs as per the KB article: Technical Tip: How to collect logs and config to assist TAC in debugging issues on FortiSwitch.

    3. Below is the debug from the FortiGate CLI:

diagnose debug application httpsd -1

diagnose debug enable

Now navigate to the FortiGate GUI -> FortiSwitch Clients -> Wait for a few seconds, and stop the debug.

diagnose debug disable

diagnose debug reset
