Troubleshooting Tip: Identify Root Cause of Power LED Red on FortiSwitch

1. Check Power Supply Status: Execute the command ‘diagnose sys psu status’ to verify the status of both power supply units (PSUs): 

diagnose sys psu status

Module Status
___________________________________
PSU1 OK
PSU2 Not OK

2. To find out the root cause, follow the below steps:

• If PSU1 is OK and PSU2 is not OK:
  • Swap the external power sources connected to PSU1 and PSU2.
  • If PSU1 now reports as not OK, the issue lies with the external power source.
  • If PSU2 continues to report as not OK, contact technical support.

Note:

Ensure that both external power sources are compatible with the FortiSwitch before swapping.
