Troubleshooting Tip: FortiSwitch not providing power to GRANDSTREAM GXP2160 VoIP Phone

| Scope | FortiSwitch-124F, FortiSwitch-148F with RT PoE firmware versions 1.0.1.6 / 1.0.1.7. |
| Solution | Before proceeding with the firmware upgrade, open a support case with TAC to request the PoE firmware image. Include the following information in the ticket:
Output of the following command from the FortiSwitch:
diagnose debug report
Confirmation of the IP phone model (for example, GXP2160).
Once the firmware image is provided by TAC, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Verify the PoE Firmware Version.
Step 3: Confirm Firmware Upgrade.
get hardware status
Step 5: Configure the Port for the GXP2160 VoIP Phone.
Replace portX with the appropriate port number connected to the phone.
Note: If the FortiSwitch is managed, then this config might not be available from FortiGate. So, create a Custom-command (Executing custom FortiSwitch scripts) to push this config from FortiGate.
Step 6: Verify Power Delivery. |
