Troubleshooting Tip: Clients are not getting the IP after a FortiSwitch upgrade to v7.6.8

Description

This article describes an issue on FortiSwitch 110G models where clients connected to the FortiSwitch do not receive an IP address from the DHCP server when DHCP snooping is enabled on the respective VLAN.

Scope

FortiSwitch 110G version 7.6.8.

Solution

In the FortiSwitch dhcprelay application debug, only the DHCPDISCOVER message from the client is observed. The subsequent DHCP messages required to complete the DHCP process are not observed.

This issue is fixed in the software versions 7.6.9 and 8.0.1.
