Technical Tip : Move FortiSwitch Manager (VM) from one hardware to another

1. Create an .ovf file of the entire VM from the old FortiSwitch Manager (VM). See this document.
   
   
2. This .ovf file will have the FortiSwitch Manager OS as well as all of the existing configurations.
   
   
3. Make sure the new hardware has similar hardware features to that of the old platform - number of CPU, RAM, HDD.
   
   
4. Open a Customer Service Support Ticket to raise a request to generate a new license file .lic for the new hardware's UUID.
   
   
5. Upload the new .lic file on the FortiSwitch Manager (VM) and activate the license. Refer to Activate license.
   
   
6. The FortiSwitch will be ready for authorization on the new FortiSwitch Manager (VM).
   
   
7. The status can be checked from the following command on the new FortiSwitch Manager (VM) CLI:
