This article describes how to get advice about recommended FortiSwitch software releases.

As a difference from FortiGate devices, there is no such thing as maturity levels for FortiSwitch OS.

Fortinet only recommends software versions of FortiSwitch OS in the following cases:

1. Compatibility between other Security Fabric components, for example, FortiGate OS if FortiLink is used, according to the following compatibility matrix which is published in the link below.

2. If the user wants to use a new feature that is not available in a previous version.
   
   

3. If, as a TAC recommendation, a specific version contains a feature correction.
   
   

For 2 and 3, it is recommended to review the release notes according to the environment in which the product is being used. I.e., for the latest v7.2 GA FortiSwitch release, refer to the following links below:

For 3, note that not all known feature corrections may be listed in the release notes. It is at Fortinet´s discretion to decide if a specific issue is relevant enough to be disclosed in a public document.
