Technical Tip: Downloading FortiSwitch and Core MIB files

Description

This article describes that FortiSwitchOS uses two types of management information base (MIB) files for SNMP monitoring:

• The Fortinet core MIB file includes all system configuration and trap information that applies to all Fortinet products.
• Product-specific MIB files include all system configuration information and trap information for a specific product. For example, FORTINET-FORTISWITCH-MIB.mib is for FortiSwitch units.

Scope

FortiSwitch MIB files.

Solution

To download the FortiSwitch MIB file from Customer Service & Support:

1. Go to Support.
                                                                                     

2. Select Login Now.
                                                                                         

 

3. Enter an email address and password and select LOG IN.
   
   
4. Go to Support -> Firmware Download.
   
   

5. From the Select Product dropdown list, select FortiSwitch.
   
                                                                   
6. Select the Download tab. 
   
   

    

7. Select the directory for the image build being used. 
   
   

    

8. Use the search box to find the .mib file and select the HTTPS link for FORTINET-FORTISWITCH-MIB.mib to download it.
   
   

To download the Fortinet core MIB file from Customer Service & Support:

1. Go back to 'Firmware Images' and select the FortiGate product.
    
                                              

2. Select the desired firmware version and select the MIB folder.

    
   
   

    

3. Download the file named CORE-MIB using the HTTPS button on the right side.
