Unable to Change Email Subject for Manual Input Notification

Hi Community,

I wanted to change the email subject for the manual input email notification. I updated the Title field in the manual input playbook step with the subject as i want, as shown in the image below:

I captured this title field data in the email notification template inside Subject field, as you can see in the image below:

However, the email is still showing the default subject: "A FortiSOAR playbook is requesting your input"

as shown in below email screenshot and I would like to understand where this default email subject is coming from and how I can change it.

I would appreciate help on how to change the email subject for the manual input notification.
FortiSOAR Version: FortiSOARTM 7.6.2-5507

    The issue has been resolved.

    I created a new email notification channel customized as per the requirement. After configuring this new channel in the delivery rule, I was able to receive the email with the subject line reflecting the manual input step title.

    Hi,

    In the Manual Input step, please ensure that the option in Medium  “Customize email template” is enabled.

    Once enabled, update the Subject field there with your required subject line and save the playbook.

    If this option is not selected, FortiSOAR uses the default subject:
    “A FortiSOAR playbook is requesting your input”

    After enabling customization and updating the subject, re-run the playbook and the email subject should reflect your changes.Screenshot 2026-02-27 131324.png

    Hi @DHNX ,

    Thanks for your reply. I have created a template in the Notification Delivery Rule, as shown in the image below. However, I am unable to configure that template in manual input playbook step because the manual input token link is created only within the Notification Delivery Rule itself.

    Thanks for your reply. As per your suggestion, I changed the subject in the email template for the same record as shown below. However, it is still showing the old subject "A FortiSOAR playbook is requesting your input".

    When I created a new notification channel. I am facing issue with the permissions. How to configure permissions for the external input step.

    Hi @muhammadnauman 

    Please have the Admin user (csadmin) enable the "Playbook" -> Execute permission to the role assigned to your user account.

    This Playbook is executed to get an input from external users so no permissions required to provide the input in provided link input while it is specifically asking for it.

    In the default notification channel I was facing changing the body issue of alternatively link which some how figured it out to remove using script but I am also facing issue if send to multiple users. Email received don't show all the recipients in the email. How to get all the recipients in the email?
