Troubleshooting Tip: Unable to change organization for a device in FortiSIEM

Users may encounter a situation where the 'Change Organization' option in CMDB does not list the desired target organization for a device.

Cause:
This behavior is by default. The 'Change Organization' feature is designed to allow movement of devices only between organizations that do not have collectors.

Example Scenario:

• A device 'dev1' is currently in the Super organization.
• There are two other organizations:
  • 'org1' → has at least one collector.
  • 'org2' → has no collector.

When Actions -> Change Organization for 'dev1' in CMDB is selected, the dropdown will only show:

• Super
• org2

'org1' will not appear in the list because it has a collector.

To move a device to an organization with a collector:

1. Remove the device from its current organization (e.g., Super).
2.  Re-discover the device using the collector associated with the target organization.
