Technical Tip: Monitor PING only from CMDB monitor status in FortiSIEM

Description This article describes the steps to remove the SNMP monitor from the CMDB monitor status in FortiSIEM. This is useful if the user wants to keep only the ping monitor for a device.
Scope FortiSIEM v7.x+.
Solution

To remove the SNMP monitor from the CMDB monitor status in FortiSIEM, follow these steps:

  1. If the device exists in CMDB, delete it from the CMDB.
  2. Delete the SNMP credentials for the device under Admin -> Setup -> Credentials.
  3. Under Admin -> Setup -> Discovery, add or edit the device and configure the options to be Ping only discovery. Refer to the User Guide for more information.
  4. Select Save and Discover to discover the device via ping only.
  5. Monitor the CMDB and verify that the device will be added and the method will be changed to PING.
