Technical Tip: How to delete a Collector from the GUI

This article describes how to make sure that deleting a Collector from the GUI is successful.

FortiSIEM v6.x+, v7.x+.

Solution

Deleting a Collector from the GUI usually fails because the following steps were not applied. Before proceeding with deleting a collector, make sure the following is done:

• There are no devices in CMDB -> Devices -> Discovered by, select the collector to delete from the drop-down.

• No devices are showing in Admin -> Setup -> Monitor -> Performance. Select the collector to delete from the drop-down.

• No agent association is linked to the collector in Admin -> Setup -> Windows Agent -> Host To Template Associations.

After ensuring the above requirements are fulfilled, follow the steps below to delete the collector:

1. For Service Provider deployments: Navigate to Admin -> Setup -> Organizations -> Edit an organization -> Select the Collector.
   For Enterprise Deployments: Navigate to Admin -> Setup -> Collectors -> Select the Collector.

2. Delete the Collector by selecting the 'Delete' button.
