Technical Tip : How to apply FortiSIEM license to the Supervisor

Description

This article describes how to apply a license for FortiSIEM. All older versions of fortiSIEM licensing have been deprecated.

Scope

FortiSIEM v4.10+.

Solution

Prerequisite:
Download the license from the account under https://support.fortinet.com. If the license is not downloaded, do it before continuing with this article.

1. Log into the FortiSIEM GUI: https://<supervisor_ip> - Log in with Admin credentials.
2. Go to Admin -> License
3. On the right panel select 'Upload'.
4. On the screen select Browse and find the license file (ends in .lic)
5. Enter the full admin username and password.
6. Select 'Upload' to finish applying for the license.
7. Reboot if prompted to finalize the license application.

Note:

The following is Available for initial setup:

• Select Enterprise or Service Provider.

Additional note:

License Expiry: The expiration date of the license can be found in the License Management section of the same page.
License Type: Fortisiem License may vary depending on the deployment size, such as the number of devices, users, or event logs. But be sure the license applied aligns with the FortiSIEM configuration.
