Technical Tip: Configuration guide for DR bootstrapping

Description

 

This article provides method to configure a DR bootstrapping.

 

Scope

 

FortiSIEM v7.3 & 7.4.

 

Solution

 

After configuration completed for High Availability according to the guide: Understanding High Availability (HA).

Users may continue to spin a New Supervisor with valid license to set up as a Disaster Recovery site.

 

  1. In the DR GUI -> Admin -> Settings -> System -> Cluster Config, add all the Supervisor IPs in DR Bootstrapping:

Notes: For FortiSIEM v7.3.x and v7.4.0, do not include the VIP in the DR bootstrapping.

  1. After saving the configuration on DR GUI, it shoulto see firewall rules added with all the Supervisor IP in DR CLI:

 

firewall-cmd –list-all

 

 

  1. Go back to Supervisor HA Cluster Leader GUI -> Admin -> License -> Nodes -> Add -> Select 'Secondary Supervisor' and fill in the requirements. Refer to step 10 of Configuring On-premise Virtual Appliance Clusters for HA and DR.

  2. After the configuration is completed, it will show as an example below:

Notes: DR sites are expected to be DOWN for some processes:
