We have tried upgrading FortiSIEM from 7.4.2 to 7.5.0 and encountered following issue.

Screenshot 2026-02-01 175314.png
When checking python version, it shows python3.6 but we are unable to find python3.9. We are also unable to use phstatus and such scripts.
Could you help us in resolving this issue?

Hi @Shiro,

Are you upgrading a Supervisor or a Worker (or a Supervisor-All-In-One)?

From these lines, I'd suspect that the yum update did not run/not run correctly at the beginning, so dependencies are missing.

It could also be a file system permission error in case you have modified something in the past.

Reason for these could be connectivity problems, either to the internet, or, in case you have disks mounted externally (SAN?), disks.

Usually, for a Supervisor, the best option is to restore the snapshot from before the upgrade and try again.

For a Worker (assuming you always have two nodes per shard), I tend to kill the worker and set up a new one.

Fixing the error and continuing the upgrade never worked out for me (it usually fails in the next steps, since some processes got stuck in the middle, etc.), so restoring the status before upgrade is always the way to go here.

You will get more in-depth assistance when opening a support ticket here and attaching the logs (usually in /opt/upgrade/logs and /usr/local/upgrade/logs, in case the default phziplogs command does not work anymore).

Best,

Christian
