Technical Tip: Configure Custom VPN Configuration on FortiSASE

Description

This article describes the new FortiSASE feature supporting the creation of a Private VPN.

Scope

FortiSASE v25.1.

Solution

Previously, before v25.1, FortiSASE admins did not have the option to create a Private VPN.

As of v25.1, the end user can now create their own Private VPN on Forticlient

Requirements:

Endpoint connection to FortiSASE VPN must be set to 'Manually', and should be Enabled.

If the 'Automatic' option is used, the Show button to Disconnect from FortiSASE should be Enabled.

If the 'Automatic' option is used with 'On/Off-net detection' selected, the option to exempt the endpoint from SASE auto-connect when online should be Enabled.
