Description

This article describes the steps and recommendations to prevent the error 'Firmware upgrade Failed: Failed to fetch checksum for image' when updating a FortiSandbox.

Scope

FortiSandbox.

Solution

This error is observed during the update process when the firmware has an error.


The validation process is as follows:

Within the Support Portal, obtain the image and the Hash value (in this case SA_2000E-v400-build0423-FORTINET.out).

Once these values have been obtained through Windows PowerShell, they must be validated with the following command:

((Get-FileHash "image_name.out" -Algorithm md5).Hash) -eq "hash_md5"


For this example: FSA_2000E-v400-build0423-FORTINET.out.


The output should be 'True' as shown in the following output:
