This article describes how to troubleshoot errors in the 'JSON RPC API is not allowed for RPC user' to show in the System Events log.

Solution

When trying to log in to the user using the API, it shows 'JSON RPC API is not allowed for RPC user' in FortiSandbox Event logs.

This is because the admin profile for the user that is used to log in to the API does not allow access to the JSON API.

Steps to solve the issue:

Check the admin profile that is assigned to the user in System -> Administrator.

Go to System -> Admin Profiles, select the corresponding admin profile, and set the JSON API access to allowed.
