Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot FortiRecorder webUI showing 'Sorry, this device does not support video/mp4'.

Scope FortiRecorder.
Solution

The error is showing:

  1. Verify whether the device/laptop that is connecting to FortiRecorder is able to support HEVC H.265 utilizing a 3rd party HEVC tester, such as: https://thorium.rocks/misc/h265-tester.html.
  2. Make sure Hardware Acceleration is enabled under Chrome, navigate to 'chrome://settings/system' in the address bar and make sure the 'Use graphics acceleration when available' option is turned on.
  3. For a workaround, navigate under Camera -> Configuration -> Video Profile -> 'Edit your active video profile' to H.264 AVC
