Description This article describes how to replace the HDD in a FortiProxy equipped with LSI MegaRAID SAS RAID Controller.
Scope FortiProxy hardware appliance equipped with LSI MegaRAID SAS RAID Controller.
Solution

Requirements:

  • Monitor, keyboard.
  • Console cable.

 

Process of replacing the disk:

  1. Plug a monitor and a keyboard into FortiProxy.
  2. Reboot FortiProxy.
  3. During the boot-up process, when this message 'Press <Ctrl><R> to Run MegaRAID Configuration Utility' appears, press the 'Ctrl + R' keys simultaneously to enter the configuration utility.
  4. Once in the MegaRAID Configuration Utility, navigate to the 'Create Virtual Drive' option.
  5. Create a Virtual Drive in RAID 0 for the new disk.
  6. After creating the new virtual drive, the system will detect the Virtual Drive with a message similar to: '4 Virtual Drive(s) found on the host adapter.'.
  7. The disk will begin to format automatically.
  8. Alternatively, it's available to manually format a disk by running the following command:


execute disk format <id>
