Description This article describes that FortiPortal scalable cluster upgrade failed due to system time different between cluster node.
Scope FortiPortal.
Solution

Device information for FortiPortal scalable cluster:

  • FortiPortal-A (Primary).
  • FortiPortal-B (Secondary).
  • FortiPortal-C (Secondary).

Upload the FortiPortal firmware version file into FortiPortal-A (Primary) to perform FortiPortal scalable cluster upgrade; however, the error message shows: 'Time difference between cluster nodes > 10s, please check ntp configs.'

This is because FortiPortal cluster nodes have more than 10 seconds of difference in system time:

To resolve the issue, configure an NTP server at all FortiPortal cluster nodes, so that all FortiPortal nodes will not have different system times.

At the same time, FortiPortal cluster nodes require internet access to check the license information.  After that, FortiPortal will be able to upgrade successfully.
