Description

The article describes how to resolve 'Timed out' errors that may occur while using Password Changer.

Scope

FortiPAM.

Solution

When using a default Password Changer profile, for example, 'SSH Password (Unix)', the user may encounter a 'Timed out' error during one of the execution steps. This typically indicates that the configured timeout value is insufficient and must be increased.

Since default Password Changer profiles cannot be modified, it is necessary to create a customized profile to adjust the timeout settings.

The recommended approach is to clone the Password Changer profile, return the error, and then modify the affected step by increasing the Delay value to meet the required timing.

In this example, an attempted password change failed in step 5 due to a timeout:

A new Password Changer profile can be created under Secret Settings -> Password Changers.

After creating the new template, select the affected step (Step 5 in this example) and adjust the Delay value according to the operational requirement.
