Technical Tip: How to Replace FortiPAM Virtual Disks

Solution
Before making any changes, take a backup of the log disk and the video disk. The following article provides steps on how to do this:
Back up and restore your log and video files
Enable maintenance mode via GUI or CLI.
Follow the document below for how to do it:

Remove the old log and/or video disk/s (consult the official documentation of the hypervisor used).
Note: Do not remove or delete the 2GB disk, as this contains the OS.
Attach the new log disk and/or video disk.
Note: The first attached disk will always be assigned as log disk automatically.
Turn on the VM.
Run the ‘execute disk list’ command, and disks should appear as log and video disks.

Check the disk usage via the GUI:

Disable maintenance mode via GUI or CLI.

Note:
If only the log disk needs to be replaced, both video and log disks should be unmounted. The same video disk can still be used, but it should be unmounted as well. After unmounting the log disk, if there is a mounted video disk, it will automatically become the new log disk.
If only the video disk needs to be replaced, then only the video disk should be unmounted and replaced by following the above procedure.
Note: If the disks assigned for log and video storage are not detected properly by the system, try to format the disks as mentioned in the article below:
