Technical Tip: How to use FortiAuthenticator as RADIUS server for authentication in FortiNDR

Description


This article describes how to configure FortiNDR to use with FortiAuthenticator as a RADIUS server for authentication.


Scope


FortiNDR.


Solution


In FortiNDR, go to User & Authentication -> RADIUS Server and configure the RADIUS Server. Enter the FortiAuthenticator IP/FQDN in the ‘Server name/IP’ column. Set the required Protocol and Server Secret.

Go to System -> Administrators and assign the RADIUS profile to the required Administrator's account. In this example, the RADIUS profile is assigned for the remote_wildcard account.

In FortiAuthenticator, make sure the RAIDUS services are enabled at the interface level that FortiNDR will connect with. Go to System -> Network -> Interfaces and enable the RADIUS services.

Add the FortiNDR IP in the Authentication -> RADIUS Service -> Clients.

Create the Policies for the RADIUS Service. More info to configure the RADIUS Service in FortiAuthenticator can be found in Radius service.

The successful login using RADIUS can be viewed in the FortiAuthenticator Logging -> Log Access -> Logs.
