Description

This article describes how to address an issue where the error 'Maximum Concurrent Connections Exceeded' shows in FortiNAC.

Scope

FortiNAC manager, FortiNAC-F.

Solution

For some reason FortiNAC CA loses license entitlements after communication timeout with FortiNAC Manager.

The user may experience intermittent authentication issues due to licensing issues, resulting in the Maximum Concurrent Connections Exceeded error:

Maximum Concurrent Connections Exceeded.
Maximum concurrent connections 0 has been exceeded.
New accounts are not allowed.

There are two options to resolve the Maximum Concurrent Connections Exceeded issue on FortiNAC:

  1. Workaround: Restore the FortiNAC Manager database to a previous date when the issue was not present.

  2. Permanent fix: Issue will be fixed with firmware v7.6.7. Upgrade the FortiNAC to firmware v7.6.7 when available to resolve the known issue with license entitlements.

For more information on upgrading FortiNAC, refer to the FortiNAC Manager Environments.

Additionally, ensure that the FortiNAC Manager has continuous access to the cloud server for license polling.
