Technical Tip: How to download the FortiNAC Persistent Agent and Dissolvable Agent

Description

This article describes how to manually download the Agent Packages for Windows, Mac-OS-X and Linux from the FortiNAC GUI when the agent must be upgraded. Currently, the most recent versions of FortiNAC Agent have been divided into three download types classified by Operating System:

FortiNAC (CentOS): Agent v9.4.4.x onwards for Windows devices only.
FortiNAC (CentOs): Agent v10.7.2.x onwards for (Mac-OS-X, Linux and Android) devices only.
FortiNAC-F (NacOS): Agent v7.6.1.x onwards for all Operating Systems (Windows, Mac-OS-X, Linux and Android) devices.

Scope

FortiNAC v8.x, v9.x, v7.2.x, v7.4.x,v 7.6.x and above.

Solution

To download any Agent version for Windows:

Step 1: Navigate to System -> Settings -> Updates -> System -> Agent Distribution Directory: Specify the Agent directory version 9: ./Agent_9 -> Select 'Test -> Save Settings.

Step 2: Navigate to System -> Settings -> Updates -> Agent Packages -> Download.

Step 3: On the Download Agent pop-up window, select the 'Download' link button for the recommended Agent version, for example: 9.4.4.105.

Step 4: Download the desired Agent Package files to the local computer.

To download any Agent version for (Mac-OS-X, Linux, and Android).
Step 1: Navigate to System -> Settings -> Updates -> System -> Agent Distribution Directory: Specify the Agent directory version 10: ./Agent_10 -> Select 'Test' -> Then Save Settings.

Step 2: Navigate to System -> Settings -> Updates -> Agent Packages -> Download.

Step 3: On the Download Agent pop-up window, select the 'Download' link button for the recommended Agent version, for example: 10.7.2.13.

Step 4: Download the desired Agent Package files to the local computer.

To download any Agent v7.6.x onwards for All Operating Systems:

Step 1: Navigate to System -> Settings -> Updates -> System -> Agent Distribution Directory: Specify the Agent directory version 7: ./Agent_F7 -> Select 'Test -> Save Settings.

Step 2: Navigate to System -> Settings -> Updates -> Agent Packages -> Download.

Step 3: On the Download Agent pop-up window, select the 'Download' link button for the recommended Agent version, for example: 7.6.1.0016.

Step 4: Download the desired Agent Package files to the local computer.

Optional:

Download the Agent from the Customer portal. Later versions of the Persistent Agent are now available for download via the Customer Portal: Support Portal
