Description

This article describes how to change the mapping of an automatically mapped (identified) Network Device in FortiNAC.

Scope

FortiNAC-F.

Solution

FortiNAC automatically identifies and maps supported devices. This mapping can be viewed on the GUI under 'Network -> Inventory', select the Network Device and 'right-click', then select 'Set Device Mapping'.

However, the FortiNAC can identify the device incorrectly and add the wrong mapping. To fix this, the following command can be used: 'DeleteDeviceMapping -ip <device IP>':

fnac # execute enter-shell
fnac2:~$ deletedevicemapping -ip 10.10.10.10

After issuing this command, the FortiNAC will allow the change of mapping on the GUI:

Note: For the change to take effect, a restart of the server will be necessary.
