Technical Tip: Units connected to virtual ports are added as host records
Description
Ports of interface type propMultiplexor(54) (virtual interface) are automatically hidden from the Administration UI, but are not marked as uplinks. Consequently, devices connected to these ports will be detected and host records created.
Example of output from an snmpwalk of the interface description (ifDescr)
IF-MIB::ifDescr.1 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 1 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.2 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 2 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.3 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 3 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.4 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 4 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.5 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 5 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.6 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 6 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.7 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 7 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.8 = STRING: Unit: 0 Slot: 0 Port: 8 Gigabit - Level 0x6070001
IF-MIB::ifDescr.9 = STRING: Virtual Interface

Fixed in version 8.0.6.
Once upgraded to fixed version, devices already in this state have to be deleted and remodeled in order to be fixed. Note: Model will need to be reconfigured.
