Technical Tip: New AD Security Groups Not Displaying in Administrative UI

This article describes how to make sure that new AD Security Groups are added in FortiNAC.
 
Scope
 
FortiNAC, FortiNAC-F.

Solution


After creating a new group in Active Directory, the group does not appear in the groups view in FortiNAC.To make sure the group is imported in FortiNAC perform the following actions.

 

  1. Navigate to System -> Settings -> Authentication -> LDAP.
  2. Highlight applicable directory and select the Modify button.
  3. Select Groups.

  1. Check the box next to the new group.
  2. Select OK.
  3. Select System -> Scheduler -> Synchronize Users with Directory.
  4. Select Run Now.

Once the directory has completed synchronizing, the group should appear in the groups view.
