Technical Tip: Large DYNAMICLOG files in load balancing Ruckus SZ configurations

Description

Ruckus SZ load balanced Active Active configurations can lead to extremely large Dynamic Log files, causing the Control Server to run out of disk space.  The Dynamic Log files are located in /bsc/campusMgr/master_loader/mysql/backup.

RADIUS requests for the same host are received from both controllers in the active/active configuration.  The system responds to each connection request.  Due to the way hosts are mapped in order to keep track of location, this behavior causes the system to interpret the host as moving between controllers during each L2 Poll.  Excessive connection records are generated, causing the DYNAMICLOG to grow dramatically.

Scope
Version: 8.3.x

Solution
Workaround:  Free up disk space by deleting the large files in /bsc/campusMgr/master_loader/mysql/backup of the Control Server.

Solution:  To be addressed in versions 8.3.7 and 8.5.0.
